Any answer other than Cartman is retarded.

1) Cartman- One of the all time classic characters TV has produced.
2) Randy- Enough said
3) Butters- The antithesis to Cartman, he's just so great compared to how corrupt everyone else in the show is.
4) Mr. Garrison- Unlike all the other characters, Garrison always know when he's on the wrong side of the fence, which perhaps makes him the worst person on the show.
5) Lu Kim- Definitely the best stereotype the show has produced.

Not enough love for Clyde on here.
He sets up jokes very well with his "straight-man" routine. His criticisms usually are aimed at both the current situation, and they simultaneously break the 4th wall and target the show itself.
His part in Pan-demic was among the funniest performances in show history.

Randy is really the only answer as to who the best character is and to say otherwise is dumb.
However, my favorite characters are Randy, Cartman, Butters, Ike and Clyde.

Because Randy has the same slap-stick humor that Cartman has with much more satirical and beneath the surface humor. He fully embodies the epitome of a hypocritical turd in today's america.

1) Cartman- One of the all time classic characters TV has produced.
My honorable mentions go to Towelie, Kenny as Mysterion and Mintberry Crunch, the gayest super hero of all time.
