After Gore had half a million more votes than Bush in 2000 and still lost I find the whole "your vote counts" shite hard to buy in to. Therefore, I will not vote if I am not part of a swing state.

This is true, IMHO.
How anyone could vote for Obama after the abject failure of his last 4 years is beyond comprehension.
No one, not even the USA, can borrow themselves out of debt.
