Is anyone on here a beer rep, ever been a beer rep or know any beer reps? Did you/they enjoy it? How much do those guys typically bring in? I'm thinking about testing the waters...

I know a few... my uneducated assumption is that it's a lot of work and odd hours for mediocre pay, but you also have the potential to work in a field you're really passionate about.

technically you aren't a beer rep per se. you work for a distribution company, but you have no say in what they bring in. you just push product to stores. you push the company agenda and move shite.

Unfortunately it entails lugging cases, kegs, and doing some dirty work. It's really not that glamorous and very unrewarding from what i hear. And i say this because i have known many.

I know a bunch of people who work for Glazer's. They like their job. They don't making a killing but they make enough to enjoy life.

Know a few beer guys, too. Seems to be more turnover in beer. Again, they do alright. Most are young and only a few years out of school.

Go into liquor or wine. Used to work for a beer distributor and hated it.

I've got friends that are reps for a major bourbon company and the other a vodka company.

Odd hours but decent pay. When one considers the perks like company car and whatnot they are both in six figures.

I got 2 buddies that work for Republic, 1 in NOLA, 1 in BR. They both like it but you have to manage your commissions correctly. The holiday seasons are your busiest.
