re: Just a simple question: Do you know more about football than Les Miles?

So lets never evaluate anybody if we are not in the same field. If we had full disclosure what do you think other SEC coaches would say about Miles' offensive philosophy.

I don't. But this is the RANT. We are supposed to question things here. If we aren't just because we don't know more than coaches then maybe Chicken should just go ahead and close this board down.

So what I take from this thread is that:
you can't criticize any public officials if you haven't been in public office.
you can't criticize movies/actors if you've never been in a movie.
you can't criticize any sports performances if you've never played a down, had an at-bat, bounced a ball competitively in your life.
Well shite Charles, you are the only qualified to do any one of these aren't you?
And my post is probably stupid and asinine, but since when does being a fan mean that you can't be vocal?

You so sure he couldn't (provided he wanted to be an engineer)?
Well I can't answer that. I know today he couldn't do it, but the question wasn't how smart can Miles be.

I don't know more than Lou Tepper or Curley Hallman, either.
I guess they are beyond criticism.

I personally do not "but" I compare him to his peers and the product of his competition.
I think he is a great head coach. I enjoy his qwirky demeanor repping LSU.
I don't like the offense he controls.
All I see is confusion, predictability, scheming scared, delayed instructions to the field before snapping the ball. I think that all of this happens on every offensive series. The players would perform much better if they broke the huddle with the damn play and dictated the game for once. The reason they don't know the assignment is because they get it a second before the ball is hiked.

No we don't. It's clear some people know shite about football. If the offensive players EXECUTE almost any play can be successful.

Considering he has been around the game of football since before most on this board were born, probably not.

i enjoy your x & o posts.
To the OP's question, i can confidently say i know less about football than anyone posting here, let alone anyone paid to know.

You are right. I only got into one of the most competitive specialties in medicine because of luck. Seriously though, I am going to stop. Proving you wrong will only come across as trying to brag. Believe what you want.
no. by all means, keep going. I would really like to know how brilliant you are.

Does it count if I have a want to know more? LM has a want to keep using a gameplan that is no longer effective.
Spot on. If an opposing coach keeps saying. "we're going to make Mettenberger try to beat us" and you keep pounding stacked formations with running plays. Miles is simply stubborn.

Your point in the OP is one of humiliation and malice. You sir are, what is now known as, Tigerdroppings most valuable poster. You fit right into the mold of what this board had become.

Yeah why should us TRUE FANS sit and allow a coach to win more games than any other SEC team , since his hire date , win 80% of his games and have a 19-2 record over the last two years. I HATE OUR ENTITLES FAN BASE.

I agree. I like Miles and don't wish to see him get fired or leave, but he looks stubborn to his own peril. There is a lack of execution by the players in the game, but the playcalling and gameplan are always the same with no real adjustments(defense knows what's coming each play and no in game adjustments). For coach Miles to say nothing needs to change on offense somewhat proves your point. We don't need a spread offense, we just need diversity in what we do and call as far as offensive plays, WR routes, and player execution are concerned. No way should one coach(Stud) have the responsibilty over the O-Line, playcalling, and coordination of offensive gameplan(with Miles). Hope he will be humble enough to hire a real OC and allow him to handle the offense and playcalling for the most part. Just don't believe Strudrawa is the right fit for the OC position .

So lets never evaluate anybody
That's the issue I have. Everyone is so absolutely sure it's coaching and it's always coaching. Never anything else. Never the players screwing up.
The thing with fans is that they say with what's on the surface and that's it. Does anyone know how much goes into 1 play in the game? If one OL goes the wrong way, the play is screwed.
If one WR runs the wrong route, it's an INT. At some point, you HAVE to blame the players as well and none of you EVER do that.
There's so much under the surface that goes into this game, I find it funny that people think they see it all.
Look, I've lost alot of confidence in Miles this past week because of his inability to adjust the offense up to this point. my stance is that we'll see where it goes from here. Not "FIRE THIS MFer now!!!" like most of these tards that LOVE to show up when LSU isn't playing the best at this point.
But I'm not going to sit here and not take into consideration his past record and what he's capable of doing as well. You guys just see one game and you're ready to write off the rest of the guy's career. It's ridiculous.
When a team goes down like this, you can bet pre-season high expectations cause fans inability to see what they have in front of them currently.
