| MICHIGAN... is it up for grabs? (Posted on 10/8/12 at 8:36 pm)
Really, this is hard to believe but check out this info:
quote:
Obama’s 10 percentage point lead (47%-37%) in a poll conducted last month by EPIC-MRA of Lansing dropped to 3 points (48% to 45%), according to the poll of 600 likely voters conducted by EPIC-MRA of Lansing. The gap between Romney and Obama was within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. Undecided voters shrank from the September survey’s 16% to just 7%.
Undecided voters dropped 9%, from 16% to 7% between polls and of that 9% they broke for Romney 8 to 1. That's f-king crazy huge. Obama is leading 48-45 but 7% still remain undecided. If they break 5-2 for Romney we're looking at 50-50 in MI.
quote:
Of those polled, 43% described themselves as Democrats and 38% as Republicans. That partisan breakdown is the same as it was for the September poll.
I'm not saying Romney will win MI, I won't believe it until I see it, but if he does it's over, fini', kaput. Another month to go.... this is getting more interesting every day. LINK

Personally, I don't see Romney winning here (who knows still). You are right, however, it would be a hell of nice pickup for him. Now if he can get Ohio....

It is his home state. If Detroit didn't exist, Romney wins hands down

You can say that about every state. Take out the inner cities and it would be red all over.

To lib of state for Romney to win. Especially with Detroit. On a side note, how long before Detroit's infrastructure completely collapses? 50 years of liberalism has killed that city. I mean, you have the police union warning people not to come to Detroit.

And a month is an eternity at this point. Romney's folks aimed this campaign to get to the debates. They are very confident in Romney's ability to whip Obama in debates. I still think the wait-til-the-debates strategy involved needless risk, but so far it has worked. However, if Obama outperforms Romney in the remaining debates, he could still win going away. Of course the reverse may well be true too. I'm not at all convinced either of these guys has anything near 48%-49% of the voting public locked up. IMO, the election could well end in a 4+% spread either way.

Should be interesting. Although, I don't think as many people will be watching the next two debates.

Set to spend 26 mill these week on ad times. I think they truly believed keep it close until the debates and he will be fine. I feel like he would be up by more if it wasn't for the 47% comment.

I agree on all points. However, I think if Obama just keeps the remaining debates a draw, the media will return to propping him up. Romney needs to keep his foot on the gas.

I do not trust the next mediator to be faired, but then again I said the same thing about the first one. I also think we are going to hear some dumb town hall questions about lady parts, gays, and 47%.

As dumb as this is, it is true. I'm sure Romney has been prepped on how to answer questions about these topics.

Everyone knows how Romney feels about gays and that he wants to enshrine discrimination into the U.S. Constitution. I highly doubt there's going to be any new revelations from Romney. He's already admitted he shouldn't have made the "47%" comments also.

on what do you base that opinion? I think the viewership will double if they dont have it running at the same time as the World Series or a NFL game. There was a football game on at the same time.

he delivered speeches. it was not a debate. it was obvious to me that he had practiced those remarks. Obama needs to memorize a couple of speeches too. Look smooth. This debate business keeps reminding me of Saban and Miles. Saban memorizes sound bites. Les makes up his answers on the spot. Miles sometimes looks foolish. Saban looks snappy. Obama needs to pick his spots and give a memorized SLICK reply; surely he and his people can figure out that a few topics will be sure to come up.

It's pretty common knowledge that the first debate has much higher viewership than the second two.
