Yes 22's are a great squirrel gun. Hollow points work best.
I prefer the CCI brand.

I remember my first squirrel hunt like it was yesterday. Great memory for me. I am the youngest of 3 and my dad had taken my 2 older brothers one morning when I wasn't feeling well. I was so upset, and cried most of the day 
the next day he brought just me and an old crack barrel 20 gauge. We went yesterday morning and I still use my crack barrel 20 anytime I hunt with him. Nothing better than a morning in the woods with the old man
