At this point, with all the overpaying going on, I would much rather us stand pat and try to make it work with what we have.

No point in overeacting and overpaying for someone just so we can say we signed someone.

I think Reed Johnson, Schaffer, Castanza, Prado and maybe Gattis are good enough to enter the season with.

I just can't see him making it to the bigs this season until September call-ups. Hell, it's a stretch to even assume that he will be on the 40 man.

What does Ellsbury make a year? Apparently Sox are open listening to offers for him now that they have Victorino. We certainly have the talent to offer something big for him.

How is his defense in the outfield? Decent arm? He would definitely fill the leadoff role.

He has played SS, 3B,and CF... so the arm isn't an issue. He'd also be manning left field... so fielding isn't a problem either. Definitely not a bad fit.

I wouldn't mind if the Braves scouted David Murphy for LF either.
