Question for the OB. How do you guys handle the mosquito's walking to and from your stand? I use a thermocell once settled in but they are TERRIBLE on my walk in. Any good suggestions? I think by working in a hospital I've become a little over sensitive to these little satanic creatures. There are alot of people with west nile we are treating this year. Much more than years past. Hope you all have some fresh venison soon.

I wondering the same. So far I walk with the Thermacell on which doesn't do shite. Wear long sleeves and pants and gloves and my mesh facemask and get there as quick as I can

Worst is when them giants start biting through your cotton shirt. Gloves is probably a huge thing I'm missing, because no matter what I do, my hands get raped within minutes.

I'm absolutely covered in mosquito bites right now. Therma cell wouldn't work! they were biting through my hat and shirt. I just knew I was going to get west nile, but luckily I'm alright. I also have red bug bites and if anyone has ever had them you know where they attack and how bad it sucks.

Light thermal cell about 10 minutes before you park your truck. I have one of them carriers for the thermal cell & hook to my belt loop.

It was like I was shirtless Tuesday when I made my first hunt. They bit through it like nothing

Mesh facemask protected my neck and face like a boss though

supposedly taking sulphur pills for a few days in a row will keep them from biting you
I've been wanting to try this but never have. anyone have any experience with it

Yesterday evening I lit the thermacell in the truck and stuck it in the little across the chest buckle on my pack. Got to the tree with no problem.

First trip out, no thermacell. Still have redbug bumps all over my body over two weeks later.

Get the holster and clip it to your belt. It also makes it to hang on your stand and gives you spots to store the extra butane and patches.

Supposedly only 1 out of every 500 mosquitoes carries the virus. I'm pretty sure I cannot get it, since based on those stats I've probably come in contact with it about 10 times per week for the past 5 years.

How many of these people with the virus are old people and children?

That doesn't mean necessarily you come in contact with it 1 out of every 500 bites. The transmission of it may be really inefficient

I'm not sure at all I'm just thinking out loud

Neither am I. Isn't that what the OB is all about? Broad speculation laced with confidence and a little bit of bullshite.

If I was on a computer instead of my phone and not at work I'd go look it up. I studied this stuff for 4 years though, it interests me

I havent noticed a trend in age difference. It is alot harder on the young and old though.
