Just reported by Rich Eisen on NFL Network
He was due 7 million, is this a surprise?

Does this make SJAX play hard or take it easy the rest of 2012?

If he plays hard, he takes the chance of staying/getting injured and he could get a smaller contract in 2013.

He's not young. He should spend the season showcasing himself for anyone who wants to take a shot at him next year.

He will turn 30 next offseason, which is the top of the hill in regards to RB careers.

Good for him. Hes been stuck on a shitty team without complaining for his entire career. Hope he finds his way on to a contender.

I thought I read HE opted out, not vice versa.

GreenBay will probably make a run at him

Is it too early for there to me a "Should we?" thread on Saints Talk?

Elway should make a run at him. A combo of him and McGahee would be good.

I'd like him in NOLA or Denver. He has plenty of good tread on those tires.

Will Manning be able to turn his head to hand off to the Runningbacks at that point?

Would not give anything more than a 2 year deal.

Do you think he would get a bigger contract if he mails in the rest of the season?

Besides, when you play to protect yourself that's when injuries definitely happen.

I can see him stepping out of bounds more if he's able.

not really. ridley, now boldin, and the always poaching danny woodhead. just not enough touches to go around in that backfield.

Just going by what Rich said, but I thought he said Rams have decided not to bring Jackson back at 7 million according to their GM.

No, but if he has nagging injuries, he may sit out over playing thru it..
