Has anyone here been? Is it worth the ride to go check out?
The wife wants to go see the crafts and I want to see a bull stomp somebody.

Haven't been in a while, crafts are cool, whitetrash everywhere, all in all not a bad way to spend a day if you have nothing going on.

Go early

I went once and wasnt even close enough to see the prison when they started turning everyone around saying it was sold out.

Honestly, I thought it was a little overrated. Saw some guys get absolutely destroyed during the rodeo which was fun to watch. Some great arts and crafts all over the place, but get there early if you want some of the better things. Weather was great when I went this past spring, but I probably won't go back. It was my first time to Angola and was VERY impressed with the property overall...beautiful place.

Something I laughed at a lot while walking around the crafts show. Some of these guys make great looking pieces whether it be chairs, swings, clocks, belts, etc., and then they ruin it by painting or carving 15 fleur de lis or dora the explorer all over it.

I suggest everyone go at least once. Some of the crafts are nice and the rodeo is entertaining. Better than Wal-marks for people watching

My brother-in-law has access to some reserved tickets. I was told they got them for us for the last weekend. I have never been but heard great things.

All the people I know who have gone, love it. I know a few people who go annually.

Yes, it's pretty cool. Then when you buy something, go home and google the person who made it. Pretty crazy to see what they did to make it in there.

Went for the first time last year and will plan on making it every fall.

The prison grounds are manicured to perfection and its impressive to see how much attention to detail is given to keep the place up.

The crafts are ok, not really my thing, but it is something to see when you look at all the hand crafted items knowing that they are the only thing many of the convicts will ever do in their lives that they are proud, for lack of a better word, about.

The rodeo is a blast. The organizers do a good job of putting it all together and keeping the audience entertained for the roughly two hour show.

If you own a motorcycle, you cant beat the drive up there.

I will be there Sunday with the family.
