Lesser of two evils approach? Sure man. Nothing against that opinion. I just think that if more people started to vote with their convictions instead of accepting the turd sandwich in lieu of the douche, we could actually make some progress. It's a snowball effect. Once people see the a third party alternative is viable, then more people will tack on and kick the habit of voting diarrhea soup over shite stew. Kind of like 96% of the blacks voting for BHO? Ross Perot had a shot, be we ended up with Slick Willy. I appreciate your ideals, but like the rest of us, when given the choice of two evils, pick the one you haven't tried.

I switched to MSNBC for the hilarity, and sure enough, I almost barfed up my crawfish étouffée listening to the ol' David Plouffe defense.

Um, POTUS BHO tried, Gov MR have not tried. You say the parties are both evil and offer no choices, I'm just pointing out if the current system has failed you, you have another choice that hasn't failed you yet.

Which he's saying is the third party. Both untried, both unproven.

This is my take and I'm a bit older then most of you. I had always been a repub and not always voted that way. Most of the time, about 98%, I would vote along party lines. Well, this time around along with what has been going along in my life, I had/have questions. Still do. I been disabled for about 23 months. Worked my arse off the past 35 years+. Played by all the rules and payed my fair share of taxes and then some. Come Nov, I will be fired from my job. That is the way my company works. Once out 2 years, you're gone. I been getting SSD from May of last year along with some disable insurance. Sure was glad I had that. Anyway, come Dec, I will have to buy health insurance for the wife and I. I will have to pick up the full tab for that for 6 months till I will be able to get on Medicare. My cost per month will be just a hair over $2300 a month. That is right, $2300+ a month. How many of ya'll can afford that? In my case, I have to have it. My meds I'm on cost well more then 7 grand a month. Besides that, no other insurance company would even touch me knowing I'm listed for a heart transplant. :banghead: So, what I'm getting at is, 2+ years ago, I would of voted party lines. Now, I just don't know. :banghead:

I wonder what prescriptions would cost if all marketing for prescription drugs was banned.... Why does the exact same antibiotic for a dog cost 2.35 per 250 mg pill and the one for humans costs 11.57? The leave the same factory on the same truck.....frommthe same production line..... And people bitch about the oil companies... Look at any magazine and look at how many prescription drug add there are....lok at an old magazine from 20-30 years ago...... The tail wags the dog.....

This for sure. If I were able to get my meds thru a vet, I would. Oh, my daughter is a vet. All the drugs I take have to be mixed up just for me. One is an IV feed drug that is shipped Fedex once a week. Others I take have to be ordered two weeks before I run out due to the cost of up front money for the pham.

It's a big part of the reason healthcare costs are so high. But it's a two sided coin. If the drug companies weren't profiting so much, they wouldn't have the billions to pump into R&D and medicine wouldn't be progressing so quickly. It's almost a necessary evil. The markup just at the pharmacy on a lot of medications are insane though.
