I am posting this on the Music Board hoping the music community can help support a struggling restaurant with ties to R.E.M., Weaver D's in Athens, GA.

My favorite R.E.M. album.
Bought it years ago on DVD-audio when I first set up my home theater... sounded amazing

Favorite here too, and I AM a fan...this is the one. After their first breakthrough with Murmur and Reckoning, when they became huge and no longer Indie, they started branching out musically.
This is the one where it all came together.
The last three songs:
-- Man on the Moon
-- LINK
-- Find the River
One of the best album endings ever, IMO.

I would say Out of Time is the one where they achieved massive international success...
That said, Ive never understood the early REM fans that have disliked this era of their music... I liked this record a lot, sans the drive song...

I know what you're saying, but I wasn't talking about which album achieved the most success. I'm just saying, IMO, this is the one where they achieved their peak musically at this stage of their career.

Well, the definitely took some of the instrumentation from Out of Tme, to a new level... Using string arrangements, etc... A relatively toned down record with a few rockers...
Nightswimming was always my favorite..
