I was a bit confused about this as well, but if you refer to the OP with pictures, you can clearly see "Pistol Permit."
I guess in Alabama it means a CHL.

That's a good point. I was viewing it in terms of places like Illinois where one has to have a FOID card just to be able to buy/own a gun. Here in the "free world" we don't need a permit to buy or own a handgun (at least until after the November election).
