shite, listening to Bowie, and reflecting upon how many bands he 'got behind', these guys came to mind.

What's everyone's opinion on them?

Good, great, novel/passing fad, pretentious faux tongue-in-cheekers (I tipped my hat, didn't I)?

I do think 'Bohemian Like You' is one of the all-time great pop songs/singles.

Well, whatever. What do y'all think about this band's output?

Wasn't there a documentary about them that made the singer look really bad?

I don't know. I'd like to see something about them. I have no idea who they are, what they're about.

I don't care for the Dandy Warhols at all.

DIG which is a documentary about The Brian Jonestown Massacre, one of my favorite bands from the 90s, who The Dandy Warhols opened up for. Dandy Warhols lead singer Courtney Taylor-Taylor is obsessed with Anton Newcombe and after seeing this film you can understand why. If you haven't seen it I highly suggest it. Here's some of my favorite tunes from BJM:

Anemone
Nevertheless
Satellite
Not If You Were The Last Dandy On Earth

not really a fan of either band, but 'dig!' is an awesome trainwreck of a documentary & is essential viewing. i got the impression that the filmmaker(s) were trying to paint the dandy warhols as the "sellouts" between them & the brian jonestown massacre....but personally, i walked away thinking both bands were a bunch of posers. BJM's onstage fracas at the viper room, while entertaining as a viewer, came off as a calculated move that backfired big-time...that said, watching someone getting butthurt over his sitar getting broken is a classic moment in film, for all the wrong reasons
