Louisiana QBs

Was thinking about LA players in the NFL who didn't play at LSU: Peyton & Eli Manning, Ed Reed, Mike Wallace, Ike Taylor, etc.
Those guys with the LA guys who went to LSU would make an elite NFL team, but there wouldn't be a team at all without the Mannings.
A few years ago Delhomme, Ramsey, and Nall were in the NFL.
Other than the Mannings, I can't think of any LA QBs.
LSU's roster has QBs from GA, FL, and AL.
Munchie Legaux at Cincinnati, Gautier at ULL, and ?????? at Tulane are the only current D-1 teams with a LA guy starting at QB that I can think of.
What's going on with LA QBs? Who are the next good ones?

The coaching (on the whole, I know there are good coaches here) in Louisiana is inferior compared to other states, specifically at the QB position. Also, cajuns are short people. There are a lot more prototype size guys in other parts of the country.

Nall was at LSU. He transferred out for his senior year when he couldn't win the starting job.

Coaches are putting their best athlete at QB and letting him create plays with his feet. Wildcat/spread option has made a huge influx in the state. Not many teams run true passing offenses.

Truly elite? West Monroe has a freshman that is 6'2" 185 and can throw the ball. He was Eastbay All American and FBU Top Gun back to back years. Evangel has an 8th grader with pretty much the same resume and obviously he'll pass it a ton there.

I blame Kevin Faulk. Seriously.
When Carencro started snapping it to him in the shotgun and letting him run with it in Class 5A (or was it still AAAA at the time?), it started a trend among bigger schools in Louisiana to do that with good athletes. It's meant fewer QBs who are developing true QB skills.
Really, an old-school wing-T QB came out of HS with more advanced QB skills than some of these guys who are a basically running backs taking direct snaps.
That trend sort of suppressed the Texas trend of spread passing games from catching on here to the same extent. Hurts QB development, but to me, helps produce better backs, better linemen, linebackers, etc.

Dez Duron recent QB at Evangel gave up his football career at Yale to pursue a singing career in Los Angeles. He's on The Voice for a second try.
