Need 2 OLB's, the Hawthorne experiment isn't working, and Herring/Shanle are just terrible.

In all fairness to Hawthorne, I believe he came too soon from his torn menniscus & wasn't completely 100%. He also left last game in the first half with a hamstring injury.

With him missing so much time he missed value practice time while being in the mist of trying to learn a new scheme & position as well.(He played ILB for the Seahawks) Hawthorne just needs to get completely healthy & see more playing time before we can fully judge what he can & cannot do.

if we're talking after the season...

Harper- kinda 50/50, I'm not nearly as down on him as many. The biggest issue I have is the contract. We do gain some good space by cutting him after this year. It would be a net $11.25mil gain of cap space for 2013/14. -contract details-
Hands of stone is one thing but he just passed the two year anniversary since his last pick.

Jenkins- too cheap to cut, I do like the idea of him as the strong safety though. His last INT was 12/10/10. He still has some slack from me. How GW played him he was never gonna get to the ball. Let's see how he looks by the end of the year in a new scheme.

Ellis & Smithare gone IMO. The trade deadline has been pushed later to Oct. 30 this year. If the team is still tanking I'd love to see them get anything for guys ya know aren't coming back. Vilma is right with these guys but could take a team friendly pay cut- especially if Lofton & him together on the field proves workable and productive.

I gotta see some 100% healthy Hawthorne for a while before having an opinion

I'm very happy with the CBs. Good mix of experience/youth and decent cap position and upside potential. Corey White has been embarrassed but didja expect more from a 5th Rd pick that was at Samford U. (less than 5000) this time last year playing against Elon & Furman? Let's see Greer-PRob-Patrick all healthy with a few games together under their belts before sounding the alarm.
