and takes or keeps very little to no meat for themselves?

Other thread on Does got me thinking. I know someone that fishes 2-3 times a week. Catches more fish that about anyone I know. He rarely brings any home and when he does it's only a couple to feed him and his wife.

My folks' neighbor is this way, but I don't know many people who hunt and keep that little of what they kill.

This is me. I've tried to release the deer, but they've usually been out of air for too long.

I hunt for the sport, what it costs me to deer hunt each year I could eat ribeyes all year long. I have pretty much gone to bow hunting all season long unless the kids are with during rifle season and then I just bring there rifle. I also will hunt with a Hawkins style black powder rifle during BP season.

I hunt for mainly mature deer that's just my personal preference. I have not killed a deer in 2 years. But then again that's by choice.

I bass fish and I rarely keep the fish. Will take the kids perch jerking and keep fish then but otherwise I am pretty much catch and release.

This morning we limited out on teal, and the first thing my buddy said was, "well whose gonna keep 'em and clean 'em?" Uh, that'd be me.

I would have to agree with this. I keep and eat ducks and deer but if you were to put a price per pound it would scare me.

A guy that works with me fishes every chance he gets and throws every fish back he catches. I asked him to bring me the fish and I would clean them and he refuses to do so. He also doesn't drink, which proves to me how awry he is.

I catch and release almost exclusively. I may keep a trout or two from time to time.

I seldom deer hunt because my family won't eat them. I end up giving away most of my venison and wild turkey meat.

I hunt my bird dogs for the dog work. The meat is a bonus...
