I'd say the average Saints game is louder than the average LSU game, but bigger LSU games are louder than bigger Saints games.
Mainly due to capacity. Approx. 20,000 extra people makes the difference in those big games.

Dome for Pink Floyd 94 tour was loudest ever heard it and been season ticket holder since 91! After Comfortably Numb (of course they turned the mikes to the crowd in quad) buddy turned to me and shouted "this is what Saints in SuperBowl here up by 3 in 4th Qtr and AFC with the ball would sound like"!
(Don't know if will find out though). I think was louder then TS at that point!

except that the Dome was only measured on the field during the 3rd quarter lack of data doesn't equal a victory I sit lower in TS than I do in the dome, and the dome is louder IMO. Big Ben agrees with me too
i think the dome is louder too but im not sure how big ben would know.

no it hasn't

I would say the Dome can be as loud than TS in certain big games when they ate actually really good

Recall the 87 game vs Houston when Morty was ko'd during kickoff, every play that W Moon went up to center was just CRAZY loud!
Think LSU-UGA 03 and LSU-UF 07 were loudest in TS!

I would word this the opposite way.
The Dome is by far more consistent with noise than TS, especially considering North Texas, Idaho, Ole Miss, etc.

Really? With all 5,000 fans in attendence with bags over their heads? The only thing that would have made the Superdome intimidating in the pre-Brees days was if the opposing players confused the bags on the heads of our fans with another head covering....know what I mean?

Nope.....noob.
LSU-UGA 03 wasn't even that loud. They only thing that made that game impressive was the response of the fans to the game action. The fans never did completely quiet down even when UGA made great plays or scored. But the overall, top end of the noise level that was created during that game does not even come close to one of the loudest game in Tiger Stadium.

the Saints have only had 1 season in their history where a blackout occurred.
and you're ignorant of the saints history. Dome Patrol in the late 80's early 90's fielded great teams. Early 2000's were pretty damn good too

TigerStadium is louder, and it has nothing to do with the stadium IMO, it has to do with the fans. College fans are simply louder than pro fans. Most people that are college and pro fans like myself would admit that they cheer less at a pro game than at a college game.

Made playoffs 87 and won division 91 had some pretty intimidating crowds those years!

The noise level reached 119 decibels as the Patriots went for it on 4th down deep inside Saints territory in the 3rd quarter. The highest level ever before last night was a measly 113 decibels. nola.com article
Now that has me wondering. How can so many claim the Superdome is a louder and more intimidating place than Tiger Stadium when just in 2007, the decibel level reached 130 during the Florida game? There was a raging debate a while back here on this subject, but nobody backed it up with facts, they just went by perception.
130-119 Tiger St wins!!!!

Fielded great defenses...not teams.
So 4 years in the playoffs out of 20 years is good?
