The point spread just doesn't seem right?

How are we only 18.5 favorites against Auburn? Auburn is atleast the 4th to 6th worst team in the West. If we are only favored by 3 possessions to them I hate to see what the spread will be when we play Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Alabama, and Arkansas.

then put your money on it if you think its so low

Home field worth 3. Auburn refs worth 10.

We are favored by almost 3 TD's on the road against an SEC team who won the BCS Championship 2 years ago. It will be ok, man.

I'll take an 18 point win right now.

Only 18.5? When was the last time we breezed through a road game in the SEC at night?
All of our fans are predicting a blowout, but I think the verdict is still out on this team. I think the game will be closer than most think.
They have absolutely nothing to lose and will have a chip on their shoulder with something to prove, especially after last year. And a night game in Jordan-Hare in front of 85,000+ will be a hostile environment, and will be intimidating for many of our first year starters.

That's a lot of points for a conference opponent on the road. We've only played in Tiger Stadium so far, keep that in mind.
The guys that set these lines know what they are doing.

JHS has been a house of horrors for us. Hell the only time we've beaten them there in the Saban-Miles era was the Jarrett Lee game in '08.

They all disagree with you, but I think it is a little light also. They barely made it out against ULM at home. That would've put them at 0-3. It's not perfect science to compare them against Arky, which just barely lost to ULM 2 weeks ago, but it's pretty close. Bama is for all intents and purposes on a level playing field with LSU, and they went into fayetteville only to come out 52-0. I don't expect that kind of handling in auburn, but 21 points seems a little light.
All that to say, it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things as long as we win

We're on the road and historically don't blow them out away from home.
If it's free money, you may as well get some.

Chill out dude, we are an 18 point favorite on the road in the SEC. That's a pretty high sign of respect I think.

If you think it is low, place a bet. If you don't like to bet, no need to look at spreads. Spreads aren't set at where the experts think the score will be, they are set to keep the money fairly even on both sides.

SEC refs will call the game....

heres how they work on lsu, vegas sets the line based on the general public's perception (sec game on the road, hostile environment blah blah)...that being said they set it at 18.5, then it will move to 21 by the end of the week because people think "surely lsu will cover that" and throw down mucho cheds. the betting public sees it move 3 points in favor of lsu, so they bet on auburn to cover because in their minds its a free 3 points. this insures that the money is even on either side and vegas wins no matter what

Vegas hates LSU. It's a conspiracy.

If something looks like a sucker bet, it USUALLY is. The football pool I'm in selects 10 games a week and this will probably be one of them. If so, I'll be counterintuitive in picking Auburn, but will place the minimum bet.
And if LSU covers, I'll lose, but still be stoked.
Win-Win.

Thanks a lot jackass!
