Yup. I'm just posting what I see in my head when I read the story

I've had people want me to come see the kites in their fields. Harriers

Well hell, now you've got me doubting my memory of the story. Gonna text him.

Bird watchers are infamous for this stuff in the falconry community. They'll argue with a falconer who has owned several of the disputed species because they, for some reason, think they're better at identifying hawks.

LOL Ok I'm never going to relate stories told while drunk as shite on a sailboat. We were looking at a MS when he told it.

The hawk that drowned the squirrel was a Coopers.

Yeah I almost never believe it when people tell me cottonmouth stories because nine times out of ten they're looking at a water snake and shitting themselves.

I find the catching and hunting with very interesting. The watching, not so much. Still wish I knew the species better

I'd rather watch/id than kill. No idea what has happened to me. Must be the same issue causing me to want to fish for The White Perch and skip teal season. Old age

You may already know this but the iBird Pro app is like having all those bird books in your phone PLUS all their calls, and more info on every bird than any one book.

It's a must have once you've seen it if you're any kind of birder.

I've sat out in the yard and turned on Carolina Wrens calls and pulled tons of them in where they were almost landing on my head looking for the caller. Very cool app.

This is seriously cool and makes me jealous as hell.
I have tons of Red Shoulder Hawks around my house and I get to see them catch snakes all the time behind my house.

However, how cool would it be if they were doing under my command?

Well, you can do it, if you really want to. It's not the easiest sport in the world to get into, but if you're dedicated, it can be done.

I'm 35 and I've been hunting and fishing my whole life. If I could only pick one thing I could do, this would be it. I love it.

If I had data, I would just bookmark Patuxent.
