I grew up in Bastrop and lived in Monroe 5 years in my 20's, 9 years in Baton Rouge in the 80's and I can tell you the Monroe area is all LSU. Sure Tech and Northeast are both up there, but LSU, in football, comes 1st. West Monroe and Bastrop send players to LSU. THere are two radio stations that carry the games. 105 and 98, plus WLS-am has always carried it. Before there was TV for almost all games, WLS-870am would be listened to by groups of fans and make a party out of it. When I was a teenager, we would get all of our friends together at someones house and listen to it. We would take classes at Tech or Northeast, UL-Monroe now, but root for LSU openly.

Since we are on the subject, what has happened with the 97.7 broadcast crew? There seems to be a lot of changes. Great station by-the-way.
