I have a couple friends who have kids that play for d'ville. They say I should come to the game. Will the game be good enough for me to go to? Also, what kind of team does Dunham have this year? They were very good wen Koch was there but I know zero about this year's team.

I'll be at the game. I think the game should be pretty entertaining. Dunham and Dville have always played close games. Last year, Dville beat Dunham 32-20 with the last score coming at the end of the game. (year before that Donaldsonville won 28-21 with Dunham up 21-0 at the start of the 4th quarter!)

That said, I'm not really sure how well Donaldsonville will do. Obviously they got dominated partly because the level of competition, and they won't be able to throw it like they used to with Breaux in the past years. Top that with the fact this is a rebuilding year for them with only 5 returning starters + a drop in enrollment which should play them back in 2A.

Dunham's D has played really well in the first two games and they have a strong running game. That said, Dunham only has 6 seniors and they have tons of freshman and sophomores starting(ton on the lines and at QB). If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer.

Thanks for the info. My friends said D'ville is rebuilding but they have a chance to beat Dunham so I was just wondering about things. I heard Dunham doesn't have near the numbers they normally do dressing out, and if they only have 6 seniors then I can believe it

They have 42 kids on the team (about the same as last year), but only about 20 get good playing time with the majority of them playing both ways.

That said, I do think Dunham will win this game. Their QB is young, but is pretty talented. If Dunham can avoid stupid mistakes (8 fumbles last week at St. Michael, only three lost),then they should win without too much issue. I also think the starting corners for Dunham are very good. Both haven't been scored on yet and have played at a high level (Sophomore and Junior).

D'ville runs the Spread and likes to throw it around, correct?

That's what they ran last year. It wasn't a really wide open spread though. The Dville OL is surprisingly one of the worst I've seen as they've never been able to run the ball very well despite some good RBs. Their passing game last year was super reliant on the deep ball as nearly all of their scores were deep throws where they'd try to outjump you (which they certainly can) in the endzone.

Edit: Looked at boxscore of first game LINK. They threw the ball 35 times (16/35) and ran the ball 11 (but I'm some of those ran by the QB were sacks or hurries).

Dunham's recruiting has grown stale the last couple of years.

Meh. They've got a lot of young talent. They'll continue to get better with Mistretta.

Went to the Donaldsonville/Dutchtown game. Donaldsonville is HORRIBLE this year. You hear me? HORRIBLE. 31-0 after the first quarter horrible. Donaldsonville gave the Landon Collins Dutchtown team a decent game last year. This year Dutchtown is down and Donaldsonville got run out of the stadium in the first 5 minutes.

Dunham is going to DESTROY Donaldsonville if they have an average team.

I knew they got beat badly, but didn't realize it was so lopsided in the scoring.

I feel a bit better about saying that I think Dunham will win.

Just saw in the Advocate that the game will be broadcasted on the radio at 1590-AM. So, if decide not to come but still want to know what happens, you can.

Yea I realized Dutchtown won pretty easily, but I didn't know it was 31-0 after the first, pretty awful. I'm pretty sick but I'd like to still come to the game. I like to keep up with the BR private schools since I'm a grad of PBS.

Dutchtown's first 2 QBs didn't start the game either. A bunch of seniors were suspended. I don't think they were in for much of the blowout. I know they were in for the 2nd quarter but it was already out of control.

Dang. Well I guess if Dunham and D'ville ends up being a good game that says a lot about Dunham as a team.

I'm a grad of PBS as well.

So, if you do show up then we may recognize each other.
