So some friends and I have been over past few days, trying to talk to the radicals on the Facebook page, "Free Mike the Tiger", but they simply wont hear any form of logic other than their own delusion that Mike is treated cruelly and inhumanely. I'm not trying to insight a trolling fest, of the page, but I just dont get these people, I actually got blocked from commenting on the page after asking a simple (non-confrontational/controversial) question. I was literally just asking what their goals were as an interest group and I got the ban-hammer. Either way, I hope LSU always stands strong against these fools.

I do encourage TD users to check out the page, at least for a laugh.

I just wish they'd give him a female Tiger companion.

Just ask them how it's any different than a zoo

They are a bunch of jealous dumbasses. If it's not jealousy, why not target the zoos? They have more animals to 'free'.

It's best just to ignore these people - they crave attention.

There aren't many Tigers left in the world. I say being locked up and a 15,000 sq ft facility is better than being slaughtered running wild in India.

Why should we treat a Tiger humanely? He's a tiger, not a human? Are we going to start demanding they get the same civil rights as humans? I mean, come on.

LMAO. This is hilarious. My favorite quote: "Just for the record, here at Free Mike we do not consider ourselves superior to anyone. That's probably why we're vegan, because we don't consider ourselves to have "dominion over other animals.""

So are they suggesting we release Mike into the wild? Because releasing an animal into the wild after it has been in captivity throughout its entire life would be the most inhumane thing one could do, in my opinion.

I would like to see them put their money where their mouths are and try and break him out.

I think he could kill 12 before they realized he is a fricking monster who doesn't give a frick how much they love him or protest about his 'terrible' conditions.

These retards realize he wasn't captured in the wilds of India, right?

what i wrote in response to him being forced into the trailer to be "paraded" around:

quote:

i agree with scott. obviously he does not hate being taken around in a trailer since he walks into the trailer by himself frequently for games. sure he may be baited, but im sure tigers are very bright animals and learn from bad experiences and not fall for the bait twice if they did not like the consequence of the bait. and trust me, if a quarter ton tiger did not want to walk into a trailer, there would be no way to force him in without inducing sleep.

hope i represented the rant well

Mike is in a fantastic situation for a captivated bred tiger. He would have 0 chance in the wild to live.

Wasn't Mike an "accident" anyway ? He wasn't bred intentionally from what I remember. Somebody should tell those kook's that.

With the old cage they have a point, that was downright embarassing that they kept the tiger in that structure.

The new habitat is better than most of the zoos I've been too and LSU's not charging admission to come see him. Plus, there not bringing him to the game unless the tiger cooperates otherwise they let him stay right where he is.
