I love both to death, but the Dome > Tiger stadium

Before you claim I like one more than the other, I have Saints season tix and my dad has LSU, we trade a ticket for the year so we both make all games. Anyways, last night is a prime example of why the Dome is better than Tiger Stadium OVERALL. my points are as follows:
The Dome is always rocking regardless of opponent, TS is only rocking for big games, last night was like a church service other than the student section (props), but the entire Dome is like the Student section
That being said, tailgating is definitely better at LSU and you can't argue that. I love me some 3-1 on bourbon St and heading to the Dome swaying but nothing beats our LSU tailgate.
So, being neutral ( which 90% of those responding won't be), the following stats have been determined by all of those I know who have season tix to both LSU and the Saints:
1. Individual game regardless of opponent Saints > LSU
2. Tailgate at LSU > tailgate/bourbon in NOLA
3. Crowd noise at Dome > Tiger Stadium ( blame it on bandwagons all you want but LSU in the early 90's was just as empty)
4. Alabama when ranked top 5 = NFC championship atmosphere, for once all of Tiger Stadium is loud and united
5. When it comes to season tickets Saints> LSU , the only times it is hard to get an LSU ticket is when Bama comes to town, you can't get a regular season Saints ticket for less than face and we have a huge waiting list for season tix
I really wish Baton Rouge and NOLA people wouldnt hate each other, I frickin love football in both cities but for some reason before Katrina most BR people hated the Saints. Most people made fun of me for being a Saints season ticket holder when I finally made enough to buy tix junior year of high school, although a few friends still joined me every game and now they have priority on my extra tickets
Mikey, Busch, Zealot, and Honkus........ Y'all are the shite

or that you had REX frickING GROSSMAN as a starting QB
oh wait I forgot Jason Campbell, frick I don't even know how to spell his name
I am lucky, the Saints started to become relevant when I was a young boy with the Dome Patrol and they started dominating in my older(17-24) years
Does it make you mad that the skins have made the playoffs the same amount of times the last 22 years as the Saints have in the past 3 years? 3 times each according to your wiki page

Arguable. College Football has the greatest regular season of any major sport because each game matters just as much as the next. In the pros they can lose 8 or 9 of their games (Seahawks lost 9 games in the reg season in 2010 and still played the Saints in the playoffs) and/or lose to the worst teams in the whole NFL (Giants lost to the redskins twice last year) and still make the playoffs and even win a super bowl.
Many times there is far less of a consequence for an NFL team to lose. The games where big time schools play little may not be as entertaining, but typically the big games are bigger in college football because they mean more to the final outcome of the season.

Completely agree with you. And before some retard pitchfork LSU fan who thinks I hate LSU responds, I havent missed an LSU game home or away since early 2010.

The Dome is always rocking. I (my dad) has LSU seats in the West Upper so I can understand why everyone up there is quiet, hell I felt like that I was going to pass out just walking up
final that being said, per seating and stadium wise, I almost have identical Saints and LSU season tickets because my dad is blind in one eye....
For a normal game:
north end zone at LSU game : loud as shite
rest: quiet and gone at halftime (for a night game)
Saints: loud everywhere and drunk as hell...for a noon game
Saints crowd really doesn't change as the opponent does, I'm sure decimal wise it does for playoffs and night games
LSU top 5 night games are indescribable after tailgating all day, can not wait for Bama.
That being said, overall the Saints games are just a lot more fun every game than just a few depending on the opponent

You're pretty much dead on but nobody in here will likely agree.

I have season tix for both as well and enjoy both equally, and I can agree that week in and week out Saints games are more consistent. But the big games for LSU mean more.
The crowd doesn't change as the opponent does because it is the NFL, there are only 31 other teams, and all 32 teams could beat each other. In the history of the NFL there have only been 10 games where the spread was > 20 pts. Last season LSU was favored by > 21 points 3 times just in their own conference. It is just the nature of college vs pro football.

Everyone obviously has their opinion and I fricking love both and have driven through the night from an LSU away game to the Dome struggling to keep eyes open but overall the Dome is just better if you compare them on a common opponent game. I honestly felt embarrassed for my buddy who drove up from Orlando for the LSU game yesterday. Tailgate was wild/fun and couldnt ask for any better, the game was a glorified high school game
Now, when its LSU vs Bama top 5 mathchup nothing beats tailgating from Friday morning until after we spank that arse

Don't get me wrong, I love both. I guess my stupid drunk point was that I wish LSU fans around the whole stadium got as wild as the fans at the Dome. different crowd, playing a much more sub par team, etc plays a roll.
but hey, it's fricking great to be a LOUISIANA football fan right now

I didn't miss a home game at Tiger Stadium for five straight years when I was at LSU in the 90s and I have never been to a Saints game. I've been to Vikings and I've been to college games in Minneapolis, Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Madison, South Bend, and Evanston.
In my experience the college game beat the NFL game in atmosphere and overall fun. I respect your opinion, but I think a truer comparison can be made when both the Saints and the Tigers have had a few bad seasons in a row.

I rather go to a Saints game myself. Its easier for sure. Drop the kids off at 8 and head to the dome. Drinks at Franks on the way. Have a good time on the streets and go to the game. Usually home for 5.
LSU games are an all day affair for the most part. With small kids, its harder to find family or sitters.

Let me know when the Saints play a team in the NFL that has a talent disparity remotely close to that of LSU vs NT.
You won't find a time where that happens though, because the NFL has only had one team in history go without winning a game. So every game in the Dome there is a chance your team loses, in Tiger Stadium there was zero chance we were going to lose to North Texas.
ETA: It is also easy to stay loud throughout a game when you can continue to buy beer at the game.

When was the last time the Saints were a 41 pt favorite? The NFL has 32 teams. The difference in #1and #32 is about 14 pts. College football has 120 Division 1 schools, plus the 1-AA. The difference on #1 and the bottom is about 50 points.
Also, don't kid yourselves about the student section. It empties at an equal proportion to the rest of the stadium. That huge block of empty seat to the right of the band are student seats. After halftime, the top 20 rows or so inthe student section is completely empty. Did u see Mike try to crowd surf in the 2nd half? People from the bottom were running up above Mike cause there easn't enough of a crowd once you got past the bottom 15 or so rows.
