got word from a friend that his sister has been told to evacuate from Ole Town. Water has no where to go since it can get back into the lake.

anyone else hearing things?

The RR tracks that run down hwy 11 act as a levee to bayou bonfuca. The tracks are being overtopped and flooding old town and the dellwood area, which is where my parents live.

I have read reports that Slidell Old Town towards the south of the city has been flooding for hours now with water at least 2 feet high in some homes.

Slidell has levees?
I thought it was rising lake water preventing rivers, creeks and bayous from draining.
Either way, its a mess.
