....and lose. If I'm interpreting it right (taking some liberties with this guy's chronological order - he appears to have read it) it sounds like PK would pick us to finish the regular season with the best record in the NFC and be the #1 seed. Say what you want but he's honestly the first national media type who has given us any respect.

Mates, here it is!

quote:

In this week's edition of Sports Illustrated (Sept. 3), Peter King of the magazine predicts the Packers will advance to Super Bowl XLVII and play AFC champion Denver Broncos.

King predicts Green Bay 33, Denver 30 in the Super Bowl.

Interestingly, he has the Chicago Bears winning the NFC North with an 11-5 record. He has the Packers finishing 11-5, but advancing to the playoffs as a wild card.

He has the Packers beating the Cowboys, Bears and Saints to reach the Super Bowl.

It's really a dumb pick by PK. Even if Peyton returns to his prime level of play, look at this schedule...

Pittsburgh

@Atlanta

Houston

Oakland

@ New England

@San Diego

New Orleans

Cincinnati

thats enough its a pain to copy that shite but they could easily start 4-6

Noooo way someone comes into the dome and beats this team in the NFCCG, especially the Packers, with a chance to go to the Super Bowl IN OUR OWN DOME. If we get home field advantage, I'll consider this Super bowl ours and enjoy the wrath this offense will pour on on it's way there.

I still maintain that we are more equipped to play in lambeau in Jan than they are.

The Vikings would have beaten us by 20 in the Dome if they had held onto the football. Was almost mirror image of our game in SF last season.

But they didn't......soooo....

Eta: and to be fair, two of our turnovers were simply mishandles on KO returns. In that NfCCG game, we caused most of those turnovers. If Thomas doesn't get merked on the opening drive, we at least score a FG. If either of those KO mishandles don't happen, the 49rs lose points. I think it's much simpler

I wouldn't go that far, but I absolutely think they would've won.

The thing is, I think last years Saints team was the best we have ever had, they just had an unlucky break. This years team, on paper, and if the LBs are healthy, is even better than last years. It comes down to how the team responds without Payton, which most of us think will be handled just fine. For whatever reason, even if outplayed, this team will not lost in the dome in the playoffs.

Agreed. The Giants proved last year GB doesn't play the brand of football best suited to Lambeau in January.

I still think the Cowgirls choke on a BIG one like usual and the Giants are on the GreenBay victory list.

Just a couple of things....

They decided to employ Brett Favre and he threw that pick. Had they decided to just run and kick, they probably win by 3.

Secondly, whos to say the Saints have as many turnovers as they did if the Vikings dont?

However, I do think the Vikings had a damn good team.

Thirdly, I do think the Saints could win at Green Bay in Jan. But, no way do the Saints lose in the NFCCG at home.

ETA: Outside of their market, what makes anyone think the Cowboys do anything worth talking about? They haven't been good for years. I wish people would stop picking them to be good. I have them 3rd in their division.

Not really. In the Minn game our defense gave up a bunch of yards but got some turnovers. Our offense actually struggled a bit in that game.

Against SF our defense was atrocious (obviously) and our offense was awesome with the exceptions of those turnovers. Unless you mean it was the mirror image as in we were like the Vikings and the Niners were like the Saints. I can see that.
