The new Lourdes? I live near there. It's always a good idea to live near a hospital - they defnitely get the power back on pretty quickly for them.

Before there was the NEW hospital.........there was Women's and Children's hospital. Same area. 2002 or 2003 when Hurricane Lilly hit, we were only down for about 6 hrs. We were hit hard, but back up and running faster than most everyone else.

Was at a block party tonight and the discussion was about Entergy vs. Slemco. In this particular subdivision, it is half Entergy and half Slemco.
Apparently, Entergy is much more prone to "going out", and is MUCH more expensive. Specifically, Slemcoe is like 7 cents per kilowatt hour and Entergy charges 13.5 cents........and yet Entergy produces their own power and Slemcoe buys it from them, and charges half as much.
Big WTF here.

Have you looked at Weather.com at all? From all reports and the way it's moving, it's actually going to come at Lafayette sort of hard. It moves any further west, and we're getting hit tomorrow with a bit of power.
