I've heard on multiple occasions that Shep never got a grasp on the play book like other players. I may be wrong, but I find it odd.

If Eli Manning himself was available for LSU last season I am 100% positive we'd hear "wasn't ready. couldn't grasp offense" and Jefferson would still have started.

We wasted several TOs and had several procedure penalties in 2009 b/c he didn't know where to line up. Part of it was Crowton's fault for being so damn complex, but Shep clearly didn't help himself.

Someone said it best ... he's an athlete without a position. He's too small to be an RB, doesn't have a good arm to be a QB and has bad hands for a WR.
