Which top 3 rivalry games involve the most hatred between two teams? Based on the level of hate, from Raging to Boiling and down to Simmering hate... here are my top 3:

RAGING HATE

Ohio State-Michigan

BOILING HATE

Texas--Oklahoma

SIMMERING HATE

Alabama--Auburn

If you think a cross border rivalry has more hatred than an in-state blood bath then I don't know what to tell you.

When was the last time an Ohio State fan poisoned a tree in Michigan in retaliation for rival fans putting a Wolverine jersey on a Woody Hayes statue?

I'm talking current..maybe i should edit that. But as far as hatred between the two schools, i don't see as much from bama-auburn as i do from michigan-osu or texas-ou

Maybe it is because AU and UA are in the same state and people just kind of get used to each other

Dude...there has been talk among people in the state of discontinuing the rivalry because of how bad it's getting.

Historically Texas and Oklahoma aren't even each others #1 rivals.

We're obviously biased.. but for good reason.

Did these other rivalries have their own documentary on ESPN?

Did these other rivalries produce the last 3 national champs?

Come live, work in this state, or go to school at one of these institutions and you'll quickly realize which rivalry is the most bitter.

I can already count 3 separate occasions in class this semester where a professor has poked fun at Alabama.

Red River is a huge rivalry and they absolutely despise each other, but it isn't 365 days of hate because not many live and work around each other. Outside of some in the DFW area the fanbases don't come into every day interaction nearly as often as Bama-Auburn. To me that plays a huge factor in how intense it is

And that is why I'd put aTm-Texas over Texas-OU.

I lived in 'bama for five years..although it was a rivalry in every sense of the word, it wasn't on the level of HATRED(key word, as in..people won't walk on the same side of street)as Michigan-OU

I wouldn't expect an LSU fan to know about a true rivalry.

Did you miss the part where i said i had already lived in alabama for 5 years? Like i said, I personally didn't notice raging hatred between the two schools..In fact, after auburn won the nc in 2010, there were a lot of "state pride" and "keep it in alabama" sayings from the bama fans, and vice versa when bama won the nc in 2011

You can disagree all you want about the ranking, but it's not far off at all:

Athlon's Ranking

I could show you other sports sites that are similar

They're two different rivalries. It would help if we had been better over the last 10-12 years. There's some amount of mutual respect between A&M and UT grads though because so many work around each other and we're from the same state. Most of my UT friends have no respect for OU though.

From what I've gathered Bama-Tennessee= Texas-OU and Bama-Auburn= UT-A&M, except we've been down for the past decade while OU has not so that game has been vastly more important in terms of polls and such.

Have you lived in Alabama for the past three years?

What does that have to do with anything?

And if you watch that ESPN doc - it seems it was inspired by an idiot Harvey Updike because they talk about him non-stop.

And Michigan - Ohio State have about 3 documentaries on them and one of them by HBO.

I would add USC - Notre Dame (fish eyes level of boiling; it's respectful due to the histories of both programs unlike some big brother/little brother rivalries.)

USC - UCLA (don't know how to categorize it - but in a city, both student bodies hate each other and see each other often out in the city but UCLA seems to only want to play the role of spoiler - I guess the old Auburn role.)
