Peppercorn Crusted a NY Strip with some green beans and mashed potatoes. Dug through my over flowing wine cabinet and completely forgot about this guy. When first released, this wine was purple to the extreme with tannins so rough you felt like your taste buds were falling off. I have to say after aging nicely, this wine softened up perfectly. Tannins were soft and elongated, flavors were full of jammy tones with a touch of black pepper and a slight sweetness to all that ripe fruit. It was really the perfect choice for the meal.

Oddly enough after finishing the bottle, I noticed a note on the back of the dark label written in a Sharpie. It said "Remember Me! Lauren"...not sure who the hell Lauren is or whether I bought this bottle like that or it was a gift but Thank you Lauren
