I agree with your point. I was in br from 06-10 and I could never understand the serious lack of fine dining in br. The thing is that it didn't even have to be what got typically thought of as fine dining (white table cloth, pre set silver, stemwear, etc...) Just a place with a refined not over complicated menu with a 50-75 bottle list comprised of boutique California wines with some old world stuff peppered in. There is enough money in br to afford fine wine.

Because the upper middle class left the city to move to the sticks.
