I have been in the service industry for almost 8 yrs now. I spent 4 of those years bartending in various spots in br. I currently am working at a winery and gaining a wealth of wine knowledge. I would love to at some point make my way back to br and try to educate people of br on wine. Will br ever be a viable wine market or will it always be a beer and burbon town?

your wine market is in nola because of the better restaurant industry. Until BR elevates their dining opportunities, that will not take off as much.

Don't waste those years of experience and work trying to 1) change an entire city's culture, and 2) cater to a very small market which is both spread out and hard to quantify.

If I were you I would start out in a more progressive or at least affluent city.

The BR market has grown in fact over the years. A Martins wine shop would not be on Perkins if it hadn't.
