It's hard to believe that Warren Zevon passed away 11 years ago today. He was one of my all time favorites. I can listen to "Desperados Under the Eaves" over and over. I always liked this performance from his last appearance on The David Letterman Show:
Warren Zevon "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner"
ETA: R.I.P, Warren. Enjoy every sandwich, all.

I was both happy and sad to see the video and hear him sing :Back In The High Live Again". Well done, S!
I guess I should post my favorite WZ song:
"Desperados Under the Eaves"

The Chiffons "He's So Fine"
Do you think George Harrison ripped them off with:
George Harrison "My Sweet Lord"
I think the judge got it wrong.

I remember reading about that in a law school class.
Andy Kim "Rock Me Gently."
Looking Glass "Brandi You're A Fine Girl."

I remember reading about it, but my musical knowledge was not sufficient to understand the expert testimony. If I recall correctly the judge said that the plagiarism was unintentional, but assessed over a million dollars in damages.

While I was playing golf today, Harry Chapin's "Taxi" popped into my brain. I was a big Harry Chapin fan in college and loved the song "Taxi".
Years later when I was a very young lawyer, I heard on the news that Harry died after an auto accident on the Long Island Expressway. I do not think it was ever determined whether he had a heart attack first or died of the heart attack later.
But a year earlier he recorded the "Sequel" to "Taxi" - Harry meets Sue again 10 years later. "Taxi" is one of Chapin's best known songs, while "Sequel" is little known.
So, tonight my contribution the the tread is Harry Chapin's "Taxi" and "Sequel" back to back in concert. It goes almost 14 minutes, but in my opinion, it's worth the time:
"Taxi and Sequel"
