Need a good place to eat in New Orleans. He insists on buying and I have to pick the spot, so I I'm looking at $30 entree range because he's not OT wealthy.

need a good spot that captures NO atmosphere and it's food.

TIA

Are you looking to be near the quarter?
Muriels is a good option if that is where you need to be.

Clancy's is an uptown option.

Yeah, I'd say Cochon too. Irene's is another good option.

You need better friends, then.

Also, you could do worse than taking him to one of the typical well-known NOLA restaurants that the Brennans own if he's from out of town. It's a pretty safe bet, even though they might not be the best restaurants available.

Boucherie was great food, but not much of it. Very limited menu that tried really hard to be uncommon. Dirt cheap and well worth it, though.
