re: NOLA Radio Station 690am is being sold

Radio station values will continue to plummet.

Clear channel frequencies are a different deal, though.

I kind of like Karre. Anoying but I find myself laughing every now and then. Taking a break from Bobby and Deke.

Joe has been doing standup for awhile.

He left 690 to get a better production job with the Hornets.

Way to go Joe!

I think Kaare is looking to rename his show beginning of next year. At least thats what it sounded like yesterday when i tuned in. I'm in the car less than 30 min so I get 28 mins of youngs dry cleaning and Trey Young commecials.

Joe also is doing production for the Tulane games too. Gus is now the voice of Tulane Womens basketball.
Kind of sucks that all these shows wont be on any more. I enjoy the Steve Czaban show. I Listen to a few minutes of the Sports Hangover occasionally even though it's not very good(with or without Holder) same with Kaare I hate him most of the time but a few minutes of that dumbass can be entertaining.

re: NOLA Radio Station 690am is being sold
gus and the new guy are the worst

they probably changed formats after catching one of their shows

gus is dumb and tries so hard to be funny

new guy just says "i worked with ____ famous sports guy this one time" or "i predicted that last week" over and over

Scotty A does reference his time with Craig Sager/TNT atleast once a week. He also uses the phrase "One of the Best in the business" atleast 5 times to describe every guest that joins the show.

Again about the tolls ?

I'm sure Kaare knows more about how the tolls hurt/help westbanker than the Mayor of Gretna.

He knows more than anyone about everything. And if you don't agree, you are part of the problem and must be a listener of 870am.

quote:of course I remember when WTIX and WNOE were the stations to listen to!!!! Skinny Tommy Chaney, Bob Mitchell ... WTIX was THE radio station in New Orleans in the '70's for pop/rock music. All the kids in my neighborhood would try to be the "eighth caller" for all of their give-a-ways. This was back when everyone had rotary dial telephones -- which was a pain in the ass. Of course, this was all before FM became the frequency of choice for music. I can still here them playing "American Pie" as the woman sang -- Double - U - T - I - EEEE- X -- IN NEW OR - LEE - UNNS!

Ever try listening to WTIX-FM (94.3)? It's patterned after the old WTIX (690 AM) station, and they use a lot of the old jingles. WTIX

He called the mayor out on his weak reasoning for keeping the tolls.

Also sports hangover while not great beats the pants off of Deke and Bobby.

Format will go from talk (sports) to religious. Guess Karre Johnson will have to beg for a job at a new station or maybe he can become a monk and sing geogian chants on air.

Old news, brah.
