As first reported by Dallas-Fort Worth Fox affiliate KDFW, 12-year-old Mesquite resident Elijah Earnheart is being kept on the sidelines of all Pee Wee football activities because he's simply too big. Despite being a young seventh-grader, Earnheart is already 6-feet tall and weighs in around 300 pounds, a total which is more than twice the maximum allowable Pee Wee weight of 135 pounds.

ETA: Sorry if germans.

He shouldn't be allowed to play, he needs to play for his school.

kid is a 7th grader he should be playing middle school football...

Why is he so determined to play against kids that are obviously not his age or size
If he wants to play football so bad, he can
Play for his school

this was posted on the OT and LSU recruiting board, so germans. However some people don't stalk the site and haven't seen it

A shitty situation for all involved. I can see parents freaking out considering most of the kids are 130 pounds or so, but this kid isn't some lazy fatass or athletic freak. Just a really big kid who doesn't seem to be particularly athletic. Just wants to play casually with his friends.

It's not his weight. It's his age. He's too big of a puss to pop his cherry in school ball. I don't feel sorry for him.

pee wee football should be about the safety of the kids first and foremost. cant see how this kid could safely play with the rest of the team.

I highly doubt most 7th graders are 130lbs......

This is like John Diarse being pissed because they wont let him play middle school ball with a little brother
Whoever is making this some sob story or a "this is whats wrong with america" example is just pathetic and looking for a story thats not there

Yeah, if anything, they are lighter.
I remember in 8th grade, my class of 20 kids for PE did wrestling. On the first day, we all took off our shoes and got weighed so we would get divided up into weightclasses.
The biggest kids were 140-160, the majority were 120-140, and about three of us were under 120. We were not a malnourished group
Several future D-1 athletes, a couple of all-state basketball and football players, and some future track and cross country kids. And the average weight was probably 130.
A year makes a big difference so they may be even lighter.

The weight limit for the team is 135. No issue here. There was a weight limit on my pee-wee team

Even so at that level of football he is a danger to all the other kids around. I wouldn't allow my kid to play if I saw they had a 300 pounder on the other team.

I think your memory is a little fuzzy

Yeah, I don't think he should play either. It could be a very dangerous situation.
I just think the kid's unique because he is a thoroughly mediocre 6'1, 300 pound 12-year old. Usually kids that size are either walking heart attacks or future Jonathan Ogdens so the issue sorts itself.
Does anyone remember that kid in the Little League world series a few years ago who was just a giant?

No, I remember it like yesterday. I was talking about it with my dad when the Olympic wrestling came on last weekend, and they showed Jordan Burroughs. Even though I was in the smallest group (under 120), I lost all my matches, but I didn't feel too bad since one of the guys later won the state pole vault
The other guy went on a creatine diet and worked for Abercrombie later on, lol.
Do my numbers seem low or high?
It was kind of interesting because we would never have known a "typical weight" if not for the wrestling unit.

6'9 or 6'10 I believe.

Yeah, what happened to that guy? I have to imagine he's playing a sport somewhere by now. Was it long ago enough for him to be college-aged by now?
