I started reading the Dunk and Egg novellas thanks to you good people.
The Hedge Knight was so good! But in typical GRRM fashion it's not the typical fairy tale story.
I found a link or two that allowed me to open them up straight into ibooks, which is really nice. I googled - dunk and egg ebooks. The Hedge Knight was PDF though.

PDF wasn't bad, though. I just opened it on my tablet...just like reading an ibook.
I read all three in three nights. Good stories that change your perspective on some things when you reread ASOIAF.

i didn't think i wanted to bother with the dunk and egg series but i loved it too. it was so laid back and easy to read compared to the ASOIAF series.
"Dunk the lunk, thick as a castle wall"
and "clout in the ear" made me

One of my favorite things about Dunk is how his fights turn out in the first two stories. He isn't really a polished fighter at all. He always takes a beating, but he can tough it out long enough to get to his opponent. In the heat of the moment, he falls back on what he learned fighting other kids in Flea Bottom. Basically, Dunk wins fights because he's 6'11, he's strong as hell, and he won't give up even when he's hurt.
ETA: I know ASOIAF spoilers are ok here, but if that doesn't include the Dunk and Egg tales, I'll take this down.
