Let's discuss the horns:

Horn of Winter - the horn Joramun (legendary King-beyond-the-wall) blew to raise the Giants to fight off the Night's King.

eight feet long, large mouth, covered in runes, has gold bands

legend has it that it can destroy the Wall

Mance said he found it. Tormund Giantsbane said he lied. Melisandre burned a fake one when she killed a fake Mance.

The horn at the Fist of the First Men - found by Ghost buried with dragonglass weapons wrapped in a Night's Watch cloak. Old. Unadorned. Broken.

Dragon Horn - Euron Greyjoy claims to have found a Valyrian horn that can control dragons. Moqorro, a red priest, names it Dragonbinder. Euron gives it to Victarion when he sends him after Dany. Note: This horn kills the person who blows it by burning their lungs. This happened to Euron's man at the Kingsmoot.

Could this be used to raise the Sea Dragons mentioned in Iron Islands' legends?

quote:

House Greyjoy of Pyke traces its bloodline back to the legendary king of the first men, the Grey King of the Age of Heroes. He fought Nagga the sea dragon, built his hall and throne from its bones, married a mermaid, and ruled for a thousand years.

Claw Isle's horn - owned by Lord Celtigar can summon monsters/Krakens from the deep. mentioned twice in ASOS.

This may be used to defend Claw Isle against Ser Axell Florent (Stannis' Castellan) and Salador Saan's ships. Axell is still pissed at Lord Celtigar for giving up so easily during the battle of blackwater.

Horn of Herrock - black twisted horn with gold bands. Used to signal a castle to open it's gates. Probably nothing here.

So, does Sam have the true Horn of Winter in Oldtown or is Victarion carrying it to Dany?

I really getting suspicious of all the references to giant beasts. We've got Dany's dragons in Essos, Krakens near Claw Isle, Stone Dragons at Dragonstone, an Ice Dragon at Winterfell/the Wall, and the Sea Dragons of the Iron Islands. If Martin uses all of these legends we could be looking at a Clash of the Titans type endgame here.
