I still see this as an implication that she is descended from Dunk, especially if his old shield was found at Tarth, then he was there at some point - Perhaps he refused to ransom won armor back, or he left it on purpose, a symbol of protection for his secret off-spring-to-be who would be raised in Tarth as the assumed true-born of a Lord. Hoping the next D&E explains the Tarth connection.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Well maybe not, but my memory can only hold so much. I knew they were related somehow.
