Agree completely. I've said all along that the CoTF are more sinister than they let on. There is something odd and dark about them and Bloodraven
I don't think so. In the D&E novellas it isn't only Bloodraven who has green dreams, in fact there are about 3 Targs who do including him. The CotF are definitely good guys, keep in mind they and the First Men were fighting off the Other way before the Targs came on the scene. Remember that the last Other invasion was before the wall was built, the first men and the CotF were on good terms still after calling their truce.
That being said, we do still have the underlying conflict of North vs South and the old gods vs new. The story isn't going to wind up in one big protagonist/antagonist showdown, the others are the main story line but it isn't at all confined to just that. I feel like people expect everyone to take sides, if that did happen there would certainly be nobody siding with the others and we know that from what little history is given. Plus they are being warded out of the cave by the greenseer and the wights fled from his flock of crows.

I understand all that and you're right the literature most definitely backs all that up but I've just got a feeling that all is not right with the children.
My personal theory is that they are angry about being driven out of their home and forced to live beyond the wall they built. So they have decided to join forces with the others to set the world back to rights.
And we don't know for a fact that the cave is warded against the wights. All we know for sure is that the wights don't enter. Whose to say a treaty of some sort has been reached? From what I remember cold hands seems to fit the description of a wight and he is working for Bloodraven and company.
I just don't trust them.... At all

Wait. So Old Nan is as old as Bran the Builder?

It was the Andals that pissed them off long after peace was made with The FM.
I didn't think all CotF were evil, but I have also picked up on an uneasiness with BR being in cahoots with them. Cottons view is tempting for reasons I can't easily explain or support.
