In that world honoring ones vows seems to take precedence. No one talks bad about Ser Arthur Dayne even though he stayed loyal to the crazy king (technically stayed loyal to Rhaegar I guess but he didn't change sides even after Rhaegar's death on the Trident).

Honor isn't black and white as Jaime has repeatedly shown. The venom he gets for being the "Kingslayer" should be praise.
