They should have been doing this throughout the season so they had plenty of innings left over for the end. There has been a myriad of ways they could have freed up innings for a potential playoff run without damaging him and they failed to do it.

Seems to me he and the Nats would benefit from a 6 man rotation. If the Nats have another starter that is...

THIS. I cannot comprehend why they have not done something like this. If I was a Nats fan I would be unbelievably frustrated by this
