2012/13 EPL Survivor Contest Week 1

Welcome back SB fairies to the first half of the second annual EPL Survivor Contest. It's been a long summer and Saturday can't get here soon enough. Because we may have some newcomers and due to the popularity of the mulligan last year, this weeks matches (week 1) will not be an elimination round. Rather, contestants who select correctly will be awarded a mulligan which may be used once at any point in the season to avoid elimination. You may select any team you like this week and that team will still be available to you once in the competition. You CANNOT be eliminated by selecting incorrectly this week, so everyone should participate. However, you may still start next week even if you don't play this week. The rules for this year's contest are the same as last year, they are as follows:
Contest Rules
- Select a team from the matches listed each week.
- Home wins and away draws secure survival until the next week.
- Each team may only be selected once in the competition (not including the mulligan competition in week 1). Once a team is used, it will not be available to you again during the competition.
- Selections must be made by the specified times in each week's thread.
Week 1 matches
Saturday, August 18th
Arsenal v Sunderland (Emirates Stadium)
Fulham v Norwich (Craven Cottage)
QPR v Swansea (Loftus Road Stadium)
Reading v Stoke (Madejski Stadium)
West Brom v Liverpool (The Hawthorns)
West Ham v Aston Villa (Upton Park)
Newcastle v Tottenham (St. James Park)
Sunday, August 18th
Wigan v Chelsea (The DW Stadium)
Manchester City v Southampton (Etihad Stadium)
Monday, August 20th
Everton v Manchester United (Goodison Park)
The deadline for submitting selections for the week 1 mulligan round is Saturday at 8:30 am CST
It should be an interesting season and hopefully this will only add to the excitement.

Shouldn't have to use these early games to build team chemistry, most of the important pieces are still there together. Should wax Southampton at home.

Chalmetteowl...who oddly enough decided not to renew the contest so I took it over, then he played and won it.

This mulligan should come in handy for when I make a stupid pick later on in the contest.

Guess I got to go Man City as well. Easiest pick on there it seems. Plus, Balotelli.

We're all going to look like butts if Southampton pulls off the upset of a lifetime this weekend.
