Who picks up the labor for the remodel is the question? Sure materials are probably donated or at a greatly reduced cost. But to remodel in the matter of two days is a another story. He is not plugging contractors. Does spike pick this up and offer the owners a interest free loan to pay for it?

The show picks up the remodel cost, or so it is implied...I always figured that it was the liquor companies that pay for it for all the plugs they get.

As for the labor, I'm pretty sure they just go to the Home Depot and pick up a few dozen workers.

Yeah plus all the companies they plug.. POS Systems, the bartop manufacturers, lighting companies, etc.

Most likely there's some of that going on. But the producing company is also the one that produces The Biggest Loser so I'm sure they're not hurting for budget money. Relatively speaking, Bar Rescue is a cheap show to produce.

They should all take a lesson from walk on's. Average food but great atmosphere. Got to give them a lot of credit for how successful that business is

I've had the exact opposite reaction. Makes you realize how much incentive your employees have to f you over. Especially that episode about the sports bar where the bartender were over-pouring for better tips thus costing the bar lots and lots of money. As a bar customer I know that this strategy works for the bartender doing it, so I'm sure its really really common.

The problem most of those guys had with shitty employees is that 1) they were just that, shitty employees and 2) they were too big of pussys to fire them/hold them accountable

The sports bar guy was making excuses for the bitch that was giving away(stealing) 700 bucks from him. frick that they would get fired in a second and i would check to see how much im losing. Not to mention those chicks were trash to begin with

ETA if you have good bartenders they can get tips without giving alcohol away and they can make it appear like they are giving more alchohol than they actually are (they showed one of those tricks on one episode of this show)

Not arguing it was not better than Piratz...Just do not like the name Corporate.

I will admit, I hated the name Corporate. But Piratz wasn't much better. That lady was an idiot.

any time I have been invited to a soft opening, it is usually through the chamber of commerce emails or the city tourism commission emails.

The name and logo of the Corporate Bar was one of the rare times he really dropped the ball on rebranding. Piratz obviously had to go .. you're not going to run a successful business like that in a downtown area, but Corporate was a terrible name.

watching a marathon of this on Spike right now and I'm hooked. The Piratz lady is odd. One common theme I notice from a lot of these bar owners/workers is they all seem like drug users or alcoholics. I also love how many of them revert to their losing tactics afterwards and eventually shut down. What idiots.

Swanky Bubbles shut down in Novemeber of last year. They reverted back to their old shite about a month after the makeover. Those guys seemed like douchebags and retards though.

Well nevermind then. If I'm a bar owner, I want them.

It is pretty much a pattern with these bar owners. Some just lose motivation and get lazy, but a lot of them just fall in love with a bar as a representation of their personality. And can't change that to make it succesful after the initial success of opening.

Favorite line ever..."Do you want to play pirate or do you want to send your daughter to college?"

And I can't get over all these employees being such douchebags and selfish assholes while their employers life savings is going down the drain.
