More insight on the secondary if you will?

How did Collins look? What did Thomas do?

I agree with that whole hardily. Should be a great play action deep passing team.

I also was lucky enough to watch the scrimmage today as well. Here's some of my notes.

- Mett's 1st drive he threw to Odell on about a 60 yard bomb in the endzone, had everyone around me look at each other and say "wow".

- Blue is our starting running back based off of today

- Jeremy Hill is an absolute beast, he had a lot of speed getting to the edge. Expect him to be a huge part of our offense.

- I didn't see Ware as much as I would've liked too. He came in for maybe 4 plays? Hopefully he wasn't involved in any of the drug testing issues.

- Eric Reid, Chase Clement, and Jarvis Landry did not play today. I saw Landry on the sidelines, but Reid and Clement were nowhere to be found.

- There were a few dropped passes, but they were all difficult catches to make.

- Kevin Minter also impressed me a ton today. He read a few misdirection plays and ate them up.

- Our D-line is about as stronger or possibly stronger than last year's. Logan, Montgomery, and Mingo all played like studs and stoned our o-line on most running plays.

This football team looked damn good.

If spencer was out there, then i think hes smartened up. Dont think he quit smoking, but interview last weekend or earlier in the week said his hamstring was ab 85%, thats why you havent seen much of him.

LINK

Link to Klienpeter article. No rushing numbers mentioned for Blue. I think they have been working him some at slot receiver in some packages according to practice reports. He may have done so today in the scrimmage and that may have been mentioned in the thread. Could be a way to get Blue on the field more. Ware, Blue, and Ford better look over their shoulder at Hill though. He had 71 today to lead all rushers. No mention on attempts for Hill. Hilliard 8-30. Ford 4-30.

I think the fact that a ton of balls hit the ground today should tell you how well the DBS played. There was not much room to do anything against both defenses.

DB's played great. Mills defended Odell very well and broke up multiple passes. Micah Eugene is an absolute stud in the secondary. He broke up maybe 1 or 2 passes, but he made some big tackles on our running backs. Tharald Simon made an INT on a well under thrown ball by Mett, but still a nice pick. Like I said earlier, Reid was never on the field or sideline, and he's a huge part of our secondary. Our offense had a tough time moving the ball against the 1st team which is expected. Our 1's didn't give up any big plays whatsoever.

Strange. He was the 1st guy out when they called in the 1's. He didn't have any spectacular runs, but he definitely had a few yards rushing.

Yep, no Eric Reid. And no Clement or Jarvis Landry offensively.

Hilliard is the starter. Blue got the first carry, but it wasn't against the first team defense.

Hilliard got the majority of the work in 1's vs 1's.

yeh, I don't know what they were doing on that first drive.

It wasn't 1's vs 1's, it was 1's vs 2's.

When it became 1's vs 1's, Hilliard was the back and got the majority of work with the 1's.

Either way, Blue or Hilliard, doesn't really matter.
