Arrington: Surgery But Still Make the Roster?

Receiver Adrian Arrington's status is still unclear, though it sounds like he is headed for surgery at some point on his ailing knee. Vitt said Arrington will seek another opinion to follow up with last week's visit to Dr. James Andrews. Vitt did not specify what the current diagnosis is for Arrington, though the team had originally reported it as a meniscus injury.
It also sounds like the Saints expect Arrington to play this season. Vitt referred to Arrington's battle for a roster spot when he said, "In my heart I kinda know what he knows and I know what he can do. So with a guy like this, there's just a little bit of lee way, hes got some pelts that he's given to us."

That's a pretty strong vote of confidence from Vitt. Triplett is speculating on surgery but prolly more likely than not. So AA to the 53 even if dinged?
Another option is the new IR rule that teams make have one player on IR for 8 weeks, not count as a roster spot, then return. This still has to be approved by the NFLPA.

Well they know what they have in him. They know him better than anybody else competing for that roster spot other than Roby maybe.

I'm guessing he'll go on the PUP then we can let him practice for a bit without adding him to the active roster or cutting him
Might be good for the team

quote:sorry to see he is injured again, but I don't know why people keep thinking he won't make the team again. He was having a great camp up until the injury. That's like folks calling for Henderson to be cut or traded because of recent drops, ain't gonna happen because the guy is too valuable to the Saints.

and Roby is clearly No. 4 right now imo, the guy has improved tremendously.

Honestly if he isn't healthy to start the season I say we just count our losses. It's year 5 of waiting on Arrington. I just don't think it's gonna happen.

How the living hell does AA have "some pelts"?
We best not cut one of our RB's or Roby for this Onome Ojo All Star.

Does anybody think we'll cut Henderson and let Morgan take his place? Morgan looked great last year but I'm not impressed with him at all this preseason. He gets bitched around on his routes, doesn't run clean routes and hands aren't great. Looking like Toon, Arrington and Roby to me. Aren't they praising Morgan in camp though?
Arrington seems like a player who gets praise every year and never shows anything in games...
Roby making his case that he doesn't want to be cut. Best preseason player every year...
