I'm an alum of Allen High School. I graduated in 2000.
Honestly, it's a totally different area than when I left. I think 4,000 to 5,000 kids go there. It's like a college campus.
But the city isn't going to get any bigger because there's no more land to really build anything on. The whole idea was to keep one large high school to win state. They won state a few years ago about the time part of the school base went to a new high school in nearby Lucas.
I don't imagine them really ever breaking off into two schools.
I saw the stadium a few months ago when they were finishing construction. It's pretty legit.
But I think $60 million for a high school is excessive. Just my opinion.
