got the extreme4 installed and boot went well. Took a while to find the right driver for the wireless card I bought but got that running.

Since mobo swap windows has been kind of strange. For instance when I try to install drivers from a disk, that program will die. When I shut down windows will get stuck at the "shutting down" screen and I will have to physically reset. Guessing it has something to do with program files/drivers conflicting.
Tried to do a repair install of windows 7 which it couldn't complete just like when I run a driver install. None of this was happening before the switch of motherboards. Plan is to move program files for games to my HDD, put hard to find drivers on a flash drive, and pretty much reformat my SSD. Then restart the computer and completely reinstall windows, reinstall only asrock drivers/utilities, and hopefully all will be good again.
sound about right?

Puff:

That is exactly what I would do. If you have an extra PC I would even reformat my Windows/Boot drive again then do a fresh windows install.

First, I would get ALL the latest drivers from ASRock and put them on a jump drive. Second, install Windows. Third, install the new drivers from the jump drive. I never touch the CD drivers that come with boards.

The Extreme4 might need a firmware update also, would check into that. I will have time to help you tonight if you still are having trouble. Send me your Skype/Vent info through Steam so I can hit you up.
