Sad to see this but heard rumor last week. They gave lots of money to LSU and you have to think this might end. They have headquarters in USA in The Woodlands, TX but are out of the Netherlands.
I know LSU used their plane a lot as well.

Why didn't you post it? Could have made some quick cash.

if you knew "rumor" last week you may get a call from the "other sec"
a big deal in short term, public info shows who holds in the company and how much, not sure which are taf donors but they have more $ than they did...but maybe not jobs in the long run..who knows

Maybe it will free up some seats for more "blue collar" workers and "true fans".

I would LOVE the hear the answer, but since it is an untrue statement I am sure this will turn nasty...after all it is the blue collar fans who are the "real" fans, no rich people could be real fans....we "did not build anything" the govt did

I don't believe that socioeconomic status is determinative of passion. However, allowing corporations to monopolize large blocks of tickets has certain inevitable effects. First of all, corporations by definition are legal fictions which aggregate wealth. Corporations typically can donate much more money to LSU than all but the wealthiest of individuals. Accordingly, over time, these corporations accumulate large holdings of tickets, compile staggering TAF point totals that cannot be approached by most individuals, and secure the rights to purchase numerous tickets to marquee events like the BCSNCG. This would be fine and well if the corporations then distributed their tickets to devoted LSU fans (of any socioeconomic station). In practice, however, this rarely occurs. Rather, the tickets become a sort of internal political capital which are allocated to status conscious executives, pet proteges, and curious clients who have no real ardor for LSU. They attend the game as sports tourists, or as a networking and business opportunity. They are more interested in corporate scuttlebutt and ladder climbing than the action of the field. They don't know or fervently participate in team traditions. Even those people who do are necessarily more reserved in front of bosses and customers. The focus shifts from making Death Valley an invincible cauldron of noise to kissing the arse of some balding mid-level manager to ensure that he supports capital project X in the next milestone meeting on the gant chart.
And a little of LSU's heritage dies.
Honestly, the company I work for has season tickets to various professional venues and, irrespective of the magnititude of the contest, accepting those seats is tantamount to stumbling into meeting with a bunch of staid douchebags in a conference room where the game happens to be airing on a tiny black and white TV tucked into a flimsy fiberboard cabinet. It's all but forgotten.

What Louisiana and LSU REALLY need (like a hole in the head) is Bernhard as governor of the state.

Not sure if it was his son or nephew but one of them pledged with me at LSU and the kid was an enormous tool. Ended up getting balled mid way through.

Watched what was probably his son peel out of the driveway onto Highland in a 911. Bernhard should do the world a favor and cut that kid off.

Holy shite you fricking nailed that sucker to a cross! That's exactly how I feel about it. On the same list with Shaw, add Turner, Exxon, and Dow.
This has to be post of the year.

Yes, we should do away with all the big corporations buying up suites and tickets. Don't even let them donate the millions upon millions of dollars that are the real reason we are a football power today. If they were real supporters, they'd yell more.
Do you people realize how short sighted you are?

I suggest you go back, and read what he wrote, and try to push aside your foaming at the mouth and your twitchy fingers to come up with a witty comeback, and instead just think about it. Just food for thought.
ETA: If the employees want tickets, they can take a number and make a donation. Or they should have jumped aboard during Bill Arnsparger's tenure like I did, and never bailed out during Hallman.

312, with all due respect, you make some good points, but your opinion and facts are two different things when it comes to LSU, some facts for you, and welcome your thoughts back
1) As a member of TAF (Shaw group or Bubba Smith) the MOST tickets you can get for ANYTHING is 8 or one suite. In other words the #1 TAF donor and #99 get the same thing..period (for example if Shaw gives $10mm and Bubba gives enough to be #99 (say $250k) each get 8 nc's tix or 1 suite (nobody can have two) etc.
2) I have been to the LSU fball suites twice and my son and I walked all of them, the names of each company or person is on each suite, it is not a perfect system, but of the 55 suites, 47 were NOT corporations (they could have been people who worked at corps) but only a few were in corp names (Mockler etc.)
3)If Jim B wants to give $1mm AND Shaw does I guess he could double this, but hey if he gives $1mm fine.
Your talk about Pro stadiums above and I agree you are right from what I have seen. Your and others belief that Corporations control LSU football is just not true.
If you doubt this go to the TAF page that has the largest donors (scholarship list) almost ALL are given by one person/family.
Finally, if the blue collar fans are so great why does one of the best programs in college football have to package 5 games for $220...guess the blue collar fan only wants to see top games in the best seats! (btw I think LSU fans are the best, but am against the "class" war fare).
