I don't see how people come up with their estimates. It's a crap shoot from looking at a picture. Hell every picture I took of the buck I killed last year makes it easily look like a shooter, but in reality it was just barely legal in MS, by a half inch or less.

( I think that deer could definitely be a 140, if not then he is a solid 130+. I guarantee you if his spread was wider most of you would suddenly agree. A wider spread may look a lot better, but it only adds like 3-5 more inches to the total score depending on how much wider he is. This deer has decent mass, and look at this deers tine lengths. That is where he gets that score from.) This, looks can be deceiving. I'm a certified scorer and have been wrong many times when estimating.

Just because you can't tell anything about a deer doesn't mean others can't. I guarantee you I will be within 5" of any deer picture I see, if the deer is around 150" or less. Yes bigger deer are harder to score and really massive deer, but one like this is pretty easy.

I'm just saying, pictures are hard especially I'd there's nothing by it as a frame of reference.

What do y'all think the inside spread and beam length is on this deer?

13-14in inside spread and around 16-17in main beams would be my guess.

Kinda close. My buddies all thought about the same or bigger when I sent them the pictures. In reality it was a 11.5" inside spread and one beam was 15 1/8" and the other was 14.75"

If you see it on the wall it's obvious but the pictures all make it look bigger than it is.
